Here are a few pictures of a friendly black bear that came to visit us at the Farm after hibernation. Unfortunately, he crushed our apiary and ate a bunch of the honey.

He came to the farm twice and feasted on the honey, barreling through the electric fence.

After a few months, we were able to capture the bear in a safe trap, and the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection tagged him, checked him over, and released him back into the woods. This event happened during the early week of April 2017.

As cute as this huge bear is, we’re glad he hasn’t come back to ‘visit’.

Thank you CT DEEP!
